Paddling in Baja has a comfortable rhythm; the day starts with brewed coffee and tea as the rising sun warms your desert island campsite. After a hot breakfast prepared by your guides, you’ll pack your belongings into the kayaks for the morning paddle. Expect to kayak about 4 hours per day, including rest stops, cruising along the coast to a new campsite each night. You’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch break between the morning and afternoon paddle sessions, and occasional floating rest stops while paddling. During lunch break and before the evening happy hour, you’ll have plenty of opportunity for snorkeling amongst Baja’s colorful reef fish, hiking the island’s arroyo trails, or simply relax on the sandy beaches with a book. Enjoy stunningly beautiful landscapes, unique geology, and appreciate the subtle nuances of the desert as it unfolds into a intricate tapestry through interpretive hikes and talks given by your naturalist guide. At night, the lack of light pollution reveals the constellations. Enjoy the stars in the comfort of your dome-tent, or spread your sleeping mat and bag out underneath them on the sand. With no flying bugs to speak of or heavy dew one of the true joys of Baja is being able to sleep out under the stars. Before the moonrise illuminates island peaks you can even see pale blue bioluminescence glowing in the water.
