SEA KAYAKING ISLA CARMEN AND
THE SIERRA GIGANTA COAST

Isla Carmen, at nearly 19 miles long, dominates the Parque Nacional Bahia Loreto. Its serpentine coastline, contoured with numerous clear water bays and white sand beaches, seems custom-made for sea kayaking and snorkeling. On the mainland the Sierra Giganta Range, which blazes with desert colors, plunges into the turquoise Sea of Cortez creating a beautiful ever-changing backdrop for the entire trip. This itinerary blends the very best aspects of our two most popular Baja kayaking expeditions, so our guests can literally have it all.

Pods of dolphins cruise the picture perfect bays and Blue and Fin whales ply the channel between it and neighboring Isla Danzante. While the padding is without peer, the beaches and towering headlands also are spectacular. Isla Carmen and the adjacent Sierra Giganta Coast are home to amazing birds, including ospreys, magnificent frigate bird, brown pelicans and blue-footed boobies.

Kayak this beautiful and varied coastline to explore hidden coves and pristine beaches and snorkel among colorful tropical fish. At camp, relax in style with delicious meals and good company. And at night, as you drift off in your sleeping bag under a sky glistening with stars, you may hear the sonorous breathing of great whales just offshore.

Slip into the relaxing Baja rhythm of sunny days, memorable meals, star filled nights and blazing crimson-gold sunrises. Leave winter behind.  Come with us....
